ABOUT THE MAKERS
Indie pop songstress Kingsley met Katherine, a longtime Portland WOC shop owner of Event Cosmetics, through a mutual friend. One day while adventuring downtown to get some air, Kingsley stepped into Katherine’s shop. While both venting about how life had really hit their professions a curveball with the pandemic, Katherine wondered what magic could be made with a lip color line created by the bold and beautiful PNW star. The result is the breathtaking Kingsley Collection.
ASTALI is a jewelry line designed and handmade by Los Angeles-based creator, Shannon De Jong. Shannon went from rural child collecting and repurposing items, to custom jewelry designer in Los Angeles. She performed with rock bands on viola and violin, which is how we are connected to her through mutual friends. Jack Astali became her alter-ego, and her line of found object jewelry emerged with a subversive, rebellious nature that makes her customers feel like FIRE on a night out.
R + D Leather Studio was created by Tobi de Goede to provide high quality, unique, leather goods that will endure. Tobi and Summer have been riot grrrls since the 90’s where they met at a southern California high school. Since then, Tobi has an extensive professional background in costume design and construction for theatre and dance. Tobi draws inspiration from post-punk subculture, monochromatic textual layering, and queerness in all its forms.
Rachel Budde is a Western herbalist and founder of Fat and the Moon, a company that provides handcrafted, herbal body care products to those seeking to imbue their daily regimes with more intention and botanical benefit. Rachel has explored her Slovenian heritage as it relates to Slovene traditions of herbal medicine. She has traveled to Slovenia and spent time interviewing her family as well as her Slovenian colleagues in ethnobotany, herbalism, folk tradition and ethnography.
