Saq' B'e (pronounced sock bay) is a collective of seamstresses we traveled to meet in Guatemala. Named after a Mayan term referring to the white/sacred road, the Milky Way, and the spiritual path of one’s life, it is a resource for all who seek to integrate ancient wisdom into the present moment.

These Indigenous seamstresses are remote and are still developing business. When we visited them in August of 2022 we got to spend the day in their workshop and see all they have been working on. We commissioned these gorgeous and functional bento bags for PennyLark. Each bag is one-of-a-kind, handcrafted from up-cycled Corte fabric that these women have sourced from their nearby markets.

Details
Made from navy & white Guatemalan Corte fabric, pattern varies on each piece.
Body of bag measures approx 20" x 11", with 10" handles.
(These are larger than our linen bento bags).

Great for use as a zero waste lunch or picnic bag, or to stash produce, garden harvest items, cosmetics, books or tarot cards, or yours small things for a day out. Wrap and tie in multiple ways to suit your mood. Folds flat.

PennyLark has invested in this women’s cooperative business development by commissioning new designs and prototypes. With your orders, we hope to have a long relationship with these wonderful women and their families.

May this shop grow strong, and provide for many women.

Why Shop small

STORY

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD

I recently discovered this amazing website and ordered necklaces for my daughters. I received them in 2 days! Not only did they arrive quickly, they were carefully packed and beautifully wrapped. I wanted to peek so bad but resisted because I wouldn’t be able to duplicate the wrapping. This website empowers, features and recognizes women artists and honors their work.
They cared so much they asked for feedback and responded when I provided it. This will definitely be one of my go to sites for gift giving.

We all need that special thing for our ourselves/lover/sister/friend.

The sweet thing is that the research is done on where to intentionally drop our cash! I simply love the products, stories behind who creates the products and the fact that I can depend on the best curated collections.

This all makes Pennylark Finery my go-to place - and why I’m getting ready to put order number four out the door. Thank you, PennyLark Finery!
